Information We Collect

GitHub Repository Information

When you submit a GitHub repository URL, we temporarily process:

  • Repository metadata (name, description, language, etc.)
  • File structure and content from public repositories
  • Generated documentation based on your repository

This data is stored temporarily in our database (AWS DynamoDB) with automatic deletion after 24 hours.

Notion Integration (Optional)

If you choose to connect your Notion workspace:

  • We store OAuth access tokens securely with encryption
  • Tokens are used only to create documentation pages in your Notion workspace
  • Workspace information (workspace ID and name) is stored
  • All Notion tokens are automatically deleted after 30 days
  • You can disconnect Notion access at any time

Technical Information

We collect minimal technical data for service operation:

  • IP addresses (for rate limiting and abuse prevention)
  • Request metadata (timestamps, processing times)
  • Error logs (for debugging and service improvement)

How We Use Your Information

  • To generate documentation for your GitHub repositories
  • To export documentation to your Notion workspace (if authorized)
  • To enforce rate limits and prevent service abuse
  • To debug issues and maintain service reliability

Data Storage and Security

  • All data is stored securely in cloud infrastructure
  • Access tokens and sensitive data are encrypted at rest and in transit
  • Database connections use encryption (TLS)
  • Automatic data deletion policies ensure temporary data is removed

Third-Party Services

Copository integrates with the following third-party services:

  • GitHub API: To fetch public repository data
  • Google Gemini AI: To generate documentation content
  • Notion API: To export documentation (only if you authorize)
  • Vercel Analytics: To monitor basic usage statistics

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

Data is only shared with:

  • Third-party services necessary for operation (GitHub, Gemini AI, Notion)
  • AWS infrastructure providers (data storage and processing)

Your Rights

  • Disconnect your Notion integration at any time (deletes tokens immediately)
  • Request deletion of your data (contact us at the email below)

Data Retention

  • Documentation jobs: Automatically deleted after 24 hours
  • Notion tokens: Automatically deleted after 30 days
  • Rate limit counters: Reset daily
  • Logs: Retained for 7 days for debugging purposes

Cookies and Tracking

We use minimal tracking:

  • Vercel Analytics (anonymous page view tracking)
  • No advertising cookies
  • No cross-site tracking
  • Session data stored in browser memory only (not persistent)

Children's Privacy

Copository is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
